Abstract The study was conducted to determine competency training needs of agricultural science teachers in the use of computer for efficient teaching in senior secondary schools in Ekiti State. The area of the study was Ekiti State. The population of the study was 89 teachers of agricultural science in senior secondary schools within the State. There was no sampling and the entire population was involved in the study due to the manageable size of the population. A 50 items questionnaire developed from literature reviewed was employed to collect data for the study. Data collected was analyzed using mean and Standard deviation to answer the research questions and t-test statistics was used to test the hypotheses at 0.05 level of significance. It was found out that teachers of agricultural science in senior secondary schools needed training in the following competencies in computer usage: computer and computer system, window environment and Microsoft word, Microsoft Excel and Power Point, the internet and networking. It was recommended that in-service training Programme should be organized for the teachers of agricultural science on competencies in computer usage.
